It's time to show us your move this year!

Happy 2010 New Year everyone! How did you guys celebrate it? Did anyone join 8TV Quickie team at The Curve? Sorry for the late updates! As usual, we hav been super busy with our own studies and we're gonna sit for exam in two weeks time from now, so, do wish us luck coz we NEED it badly! Coz once we pass our exams wif flyin colours, we're gonna fly to UK to cont' our studies! ;D

Anyways, I'm here today to intro Showdown 2010 to you guys! =) As everyone ad know, Showdown 2010 is the latest reality dance battle programme which will be making its TV debut on March 31, 2010. It's somethin lik past seasons of "So You Think You Can Dance" but believe me, it's gonna get hotter and much more different this season! ;)
Why? Because the hip and fun show is all about taking dancing from the streets. Yup, at the STREET!!! FYI, street dance is a flexible form of dance that enables each crew to freestyle according to their own pace. Like any other dance genre, street dance is vastly considered as a form of art. “Krumping”, “Poppin’ & Lockin”, “Break Dancing” and more will be the core elements of Showdown 2010!

With Showdown 2010 the producers aim to bring forth the idea that street dancing deserves more respect and attention from the public. Another unique feature of Showdown 2010 is that viewers will get to experience behind-the-scenes footages where the real action begins! From coming up with original dance routines to performing in front of a live audience, Showdown 2010 will provide enough drama and exciting twists that will get the viewers hooked every week. Besides that, electrifying hip-hop and fusion dance styles along with professional training and off-the-edge challenges will also be thrown into the mix to make Showdown 2010 a TV hit! *excited*

Psst! We have confident that you guys out there will find the show interesting as the “underdogs” and the “hot faves” have an equal shot at winning the show. ;D Like all reality shows, Showdown 2010 kicks off with a series of auditions which will take place at five venues in Johor Bahru, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak and Kuala Lumpur starting January 2010.

The judges comprise a mix bag of old and new faces. They include award-winning rapper/album producer Joe Flizzow of Too Phat, choreographer / dancer Maple Loo (of 8TV’s “So You Think You Can Dance” fame) and a few highly acclaimed guest judges. (Shh, it's a secret!) =p Showdown 2010 welcomes its official apparel Echo Park, official radio station FlyFM and official hair and make up partner, Snips.

Showdown 2010 Will premier on 8TV on Wednesday 31st March 2010 with a totally 16 weekly shows. If you cannot get enough of the weekly shows 8TV has prepared, special Diaries’ programme that would give the viewers a chance to get to know the finalists a little better. These quick flicks will not only show you the glimpses of the activities that these finalists go through but be prepared to also watch some drama, gossips and so much more! The diaries’ episode will be on air every Tuesday, starting 11th May 2010 at 11.30pm.
